Gurusthan – The Sacred Origin of Sai Baba

The holy spot where the world first witnessed the divine presence of Sai Baba as a young lad.

About Gurusthan

Gurusthan, meaning "Place of the Guru," is one of the most important landmarks in Shirdi. It is the exact location where Sai Baba was first seen sitting under a Neem tree when he was just 16 years old.

The spiritual significance of Gurusthan is profound. When villagers asked the young Baba about his identity, he pointed to this spot, stating it was the resting place of his Guru. Upon digging, a tomb was discovered underneath. A unique feature of this spot is the Neem tree—despite Neem leaves being notoriously bitter, the leaves of this specific tree are said to be sweet, a miracle attributed to Baba's presence.
